The Shipowners - Reederei Alnwick Harmstorf - with a worldwide operating fleet,
including tankers, multi-purpose container and reefer vessels, having been widely
known for over 60 years, have during this period, taken delivery of more than 40
vessels. 30 years ago, in Limassol, Cyprus, Harmstorf founded the first ship
management associaton, making them pioneers in this area of shipping. With
tonnage taxation being introduced in Germany, the ship management activities will
be moved back to Hamburg. The Shareholders of the Company today are Thomas
Harmstorf and Thomas Meier-Hedde.
Eight multi purpose container ships of upto 5,000 tdw are currently in worldwide
operation for Reederei Alnwick Harmstorf & Co. while being managed in accordance
with today's appropriate quality and safety requirements. Harmstorf has been in the
multi purpose container ship business since 1979 with ships upto 10,000 tons.
Furthermore, Harmstorf has been involved in the shipbuilding industry for many years
and today holds shares in Schiffswerft und Maschinenfabrik Cassens GmbH, Emden,
providing wide shipbuilding expertise. Cassens have recently designed and
constructed a series of 750 TEU containers ships for Dutch and Chinese shipowners.
Holding shares in the Issuing House - König & Cie GmbH & Co. KG - Reederei
Alnwick Harmstorf also is in the position to develop and guide potential investors in
the shipbuilding and regenerative energy resource markets. The focus of activities lies
on the modern container tonnage of upto 2,500 TEU as well as multi purpose vessels
in the size of 4,000 to 9,000 tdw.
