Having been widely known for over 65 years Alnwick Harmstorf took delivery of more than 60 vessels including tankers, multi purpose container and reefer vessels. 1971 in Limassol, Cyprus, Harmstorf founded the first ship management company, making them pioneers in this area of shipping. With tonnage taxation being introduced in Germany, the ship management activities returned to Hamburg. Leading the Company today are the Managing Partners Thomas Harmstorf and Thomas Meier-Hedde.

Harmstorf has been in the multi purpose container ship business since 1979. Fifteen multi purpose and container ships of upto 39,000 tdw are currently in worldwide operation for Reederei Alnwick Harmstorf & Co. while being managed in accordance with today's appropriate quality and safety requirements.
